Frequently Asked Questions
Submission and Review
Can I take part with an abstract or a full text?
Both are possible. You may participate by submitting either an abstract or a full text.
How long does review take?
Peer review takes at most 5 working days. The result is sent to the e-mail address you gave on the form.
What happens if my paper is accepted?
A signed acceptance letter and payment details are sent by e-mail. Acceptance letters are issued separately for each author. Once the fee is paid your paper is added to the programme.
How many papers can I submit?
One person may take part with at most two papers. A single text may have at most three authors.
What is the quota for Türkiye?
Papers from Türkiye may make up at most 49% of the total. Once that share is reached, submissions from Türkiye close. This rule exists to preserve the international character of the conference.
Formatting and Submission
How many words should the abstract be?
100–200 words. Full texts should be between 1,000 and 9,000 words.
Which formatting rules apply?
Garamond, 11 pt (headings 12), 1.15 line spacing, 2 cm margins on all sides and the APA 7 reference system. For details and the template see Templates and Writing Guidelines.
Do I have to follow the template exactly?
No. The template is provided as a formatting example; you can set the headings to suit your own work.
Which file formats are accepted?
WORD, DOC or DOCX.
Why is the full text deadline after the conference?
Because you present your paper at the conference, you can complete your full text afterwards, taking the feedback you received into account. The full text deadline is 16 October 2026.
Attendance, Presentation and Certificates
How long is a presentation?
On average 8–12 minutes. The session moderator sets the exact time.
What if I do not present?
Presenting the paper at the conference is compulsory. Participants who do not present receive no certificate of attendance, their texts are not published in the conference book and no refund is given.
How do I receive my certificate?
Those who attend in person and present receive their certificate in print. Certificates for online participants are sent by e-mail.
Can I attend online?
Yes. Session times are announced in Turkey time (GMT+3); if you are joining from another time zone, please plan accordingly. Joining links are sent by e-mail with the programme; we recommend connecting at least 10 minutes before your session.
How should I deliver my presentation file?
For security reasons, external drives may not be permitted on the room computers. Please e-mail your presentation file to your moderator before the session.
Which criteria does the conference meet?
The conference meets the criteria for “Associate Professorship Application” and “Academic Incentive” in Türkiye. Presentation languages are Turkish and English; translation support is provided.
Can I get a letter confirming the conference to submit to my institution?
Yes. You can download it from the Conference Accreditation Letter page. It is an official letter signed by the Chair of the Organising Committee confirming that the conference is peer-reviewed and stating its dates; you can use it for leave and funding requests.
Publication
Where will my paper be published?
Accepted papers are published in the ISBN conference proceedings book. Once the book is prepared it is e-mailed to all participants as a PDF.
Can I publish my paper in the journal instead?
Yes. You may send your full text to the USBED Journal instead of the conference book; in that case the text is not included in the proceedings. The journal’s review and publication criteria differ from the conference and publication is not guaranteed. The journal is open access and charges no fees.
How can I reach the books from past conferences?
You can download all proceedings books and programmes free of charge from the Conference Archive page.
